The Bear Cove

A small waterfall that pours into a small cove that Bear found to keep Avalon hidden. A small pond takes up some of the cove. Though unlike the picture, the ground has mainly small rocks instead of mud, and there is a thick log across the small pond. It is just outside of the territory, and is very well hidden by the surrounding ferns and thick trees.

This is a dangerous area because many grizzly bears come by.

Bear slowed to a walk and he got close the cove. The panting male sniffed about, to find only one fresh scent. Young female grizzly bear. Sighing in relief, the male padded closer. "Ava?" he called out. The ground shook slightly as the creature inside got closer. A few seconds later, a head popped up from the cove's mouth. "Bear? Ah! It's you!" The young grizzly came out to greet the dark brute. "Thank goodness it's you. I thought another wolf had came. You smell different. You smell like-" "Wolves?" Bear smiled. "I met two. They weren't really that bad. Really nice actually." he shrugged. "Well that's good I guess.." Avalon shrugged. "Dont worry, Wolves could never replace you." Bear reassured her. "Promise?" Avalon asked, tilting her blondish brown head. "Promise." Bear grinned, lunging at the bear's paws. Avalon jumped back and giggled joyfully. The ground shook as she landed. She shrieked with excitement as turned and ran as fast as she could. The dark brute smirked and chased after her. After a couple of minutes, the male dropped exhausted. "Uh..I'm too old for this.." he grumbled. Avalon giggled and laid down beside him. "Your not old, just fat." she grinned, poking at his belly. Bear's orbs glanced to the sky. "I should be getting back." he sighed. "I'll bring you some hares next time." he added to cheer her up. Avalon nodded. "Okay. Come back soon." The dark brute smiled and turned away. He began to run back to the territory. The blonde bear watched, then padded back into the darkness of the cove.

Arton the brown bear held his head low as he scented the ground. He scented another bear as well as a wolf. Lifting his massive brown head he peered around with his brown orbs. He let out a friendly roar, after scenting that the bear was still around. "Hello.." he called out.

Draco sniffed. Her red hair was streaked with brown and now soaking wet. She sniffed, let out a hello roar and laid down.

Avalon's eyes grew wide when she heard a voice. It was definitely not her big brother's voice, which meant danger. She could smell not only one bear, but two. The blondish bear sat down in complete silence. She tried hard not to make a single sound. Scared for her life, the bear could only hope that the two would disappear. With the trees outside, and the single exit and entrance, Avalon found herself with no way of escaping.

Draco sniffed and smelled a female bear just like her. She walked over "its ok I wont kill" she joked and looked at the other female.

((She's inside the Cove and it's dark so unless you enter, which is what you need to post then you are still outside of it and not in view of Ava and is your bear a male or a female because on it's join info you wrote male but now are saying female.))

Arton snorted and looked to Draco. "Who are you?" he asked having never seen or smelt the bears scent in the territory before. He then shifted his attention to the cove. "and are you going to come out?" he asked to Ava who was still inside the cove. "I won't harm you. I'm a bear. Like you." he said before dropping back onto his rump.

Draco looked around "we aren't going to kill" she turned to the male "oh hello I am Draco" she said. Her red fur was now starting to dry.

The blonde female shrugged. Her mother had always told her never to go near male bears, or any strangers for that fact. If only Bear were here, she thought. "I don't know if I want too." she mumbled, moving closer to the pond. "Who are the both of you?" she asked with slight curiosity.

He licked his chops. "I'm Arton." he said as he brought his massive paw that withheld long black talons. He began to lick at his nails as if he were cleaning them like a cat cleans their paws. The male brute was much larger than the female who presented herself. He flicked his rounded ears and watched her for a brief moment. "Are you from around here?" he asked. "I've never come across your scent before.

Draco shook her head "no I just found this place" she then turned to the female voice she had heard "I am Draco" she called.

He stopped what he was doing as he listened to the other female bear. "I'm Arton." he said in a friendly voice. "Who are you?" he asked in return curious of who the beast was.

Ava popped her blonde head from the cove entrance and glanced at the two bears who had introduced themselves. Her hazel eyes watched them for a moment, before deciding she would try to get along. "I am Avalon. But call me Ava." she said nervously as she stepped out of the cove. Her light coat looked quite bizarre among the two darker bears.

Draco turned her head "hello Ava" she said. She bowed her head, her mother had taught her that. She scratched her ear slightly.

Avalon was quite puzzled when the female named Draco bowed her head. She didn't understand what it meant when one bowed.

Arton watched Draco. "What are you? A wolf?" he asked looking to the red furred bear. "I've only seen wolves do that." he said before going back to lick is claws again. "Oh and nice to meet you Ava." he said

Draco laughed "my mother had a friend who was a wolf. I kind of liked it" she said. She shook her fur out of the remaining water.

"Oh. Wolves don't seem to like me much." the large brown bear said as he stopped licking his claws and looked from Ava to Draco who were completely different in color. He let out a small laugh and then shook his head.

"They are scary if you ask me." Avalon shrugged. She had never thought of her brother as a wolf, so never counted him as one. The blonde female sat down and gazed at the sky with wide eyes full of wonder.

"There's a male wolfs scent here that's mixed with yours, yet they are scary?" he asked in confusion. "Plus your twice a wolfs size." he tilted his head. "You shouldn't be scared of them." the dark brown beast said as he laid himself down onto the cool crisp white snow.

"That would be my brother. He doesn't count." She replied as she raised her paw to the sky. "I might be big, but I don't know how to defend myself. My mother never got to show me how because she died." The blonde female sat up. She didn't like the conversation any more. She raised to her feet slowly and headed back to the cove.

Draco called "wait. I could teach you how to defend yourself. It would be more my pleasure" she said. She had trained other bears a little.

The blonde female paused for a moment. If I learn how to defend myself, then I wont have to be so scared anymore, and wont make brother worry so much.. Avalon turned to face the other female bear. "Are you sure?" she asked. "I'd hate to bother you if you don't have the time.." she said shyly.

Draco nodded "yes, I have nothing to do" she then laughed "trust me I love to train" she said happily. The red bear stood up and rolled her shoulders.

"Oh, well that's good." Ava responded with a smile. She padded back over and flopped down.
